A Lesson in Dying..and Living

As Salaam alaikum,

This week has been a ruff one…emotionally and physically. This week I’ve watched one sister burry her husband of 3 years and learned that another sister will burry her mother buy weeks end. Death became so real for the young Muslim community here in Washington, DC. Imam Rasul Madyun was just 30 (ummie is 30). A very knowledgable and kind man. Humble and modest. Allah (swt) felt is was time for him to return home. So he left us all on Monday afternoon..to prepare a place in Jennah for his wife. May Allah (swt) forgive his sins, accept his good deeds and give him Jennah, Ameen.

A sister I know lost her mother on our countries official day of Thanks. What an oxymoron, to meet your creator on the day of THANKS, or was it a blessing? Insha~allah, her daughter will thank HIM (swt) for all she had with her mom. Remember her mom though the good times and the bad, the happy and the sad.

All this makes Ummies’ heart heavy but it also help me to remember the grave, remember those who have gone on before me and to think of ways to make my own actions and deeds better. Or should I say more pleasing to my LORD. When one is bringing a new life into this world, I believe we are more intune with both sides of life- the living and the dead. You see new life grows in side of us..it flourishes through us and with our help..but it is Allah (swt) that determin’s that life’s life span. Before the life even ENTERS the world, everything is always pre-determined, written, said. It's scary..but it makes you realize how much of control we REALLY have in our lives. Allah(swt) is Azwajal.
