Asalamu Alaikum,
As most, if not all know, that I'm a member of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority Inc, the First Islamic Based Sorority. SO last month 'The Sercret life of Bee's' came out in the movies. I hadn't seen a lot of my Sorors in a while so we planned a cross chapter event. Since BETA is in Maryland and Epsilon is in Philly/South Jersey, we decided to meet up in Delaware. Its SMACK dab in the middle. So one Sunday in October, three of my BETA chapter Sorors and I went to Delaware for a road trip.

'The Secret Life of Bees' was GREAT!! It is staring: Queen Latifah, Alisha Keys, Dakota Fanning (great), Jennifer Hudson and the little due from the last seaon of the Wire. There were some dry eyes, but for the most part it was a true tear jerker. So after wards we took pics. It's nice when Gamma's get together. We admire each other's Gamma Gear, gamma finds, giggle like school girls and took lots of pictures.

Afterwards we went to Panera...Hmmmm my favorite place. We decided to have linder there. FYI: Linder is the meal between lunch and dinner (smile). So you can imagine who it looked for all these Hijabis to walk into this Delaware PANERA...we still had fun.

So we ate, laughed and had some Halal Fun. Isn't that's what Sororities are suppose to do. Yes we do community work: coat drives and unity walks, but we also need to have fun. And because our chapters are so spread out right now, we don't always get to see one another.

We had a great time that day. It turned out to be an all day affair. I didn't get home till 9pm..but it was so worth it. Thank you Sorors Ameenah, Juina, Coniqua, Yasmin and Mischelle for making that day so memoriable. We MUST do it again soon ladies.

Well actually most of my Sorors have BEEN out of college for year. Most have families and kids. So look into Gamma because their might be a chapter near you. OR you can be instimental in starting a chapter in YOUR city.
